Internationalisation is at the core of Spesia. Our aim is to offer equal international opportunities to all our students and staff and foster our international collaboration projects. The purpose of our international work is to strengthen cultural awareness, foster entrepreneurship, and international collaboration.
By taking part in international activities, we aim to strengthen participants’ unique and personal growth and future development in working life.

Erasmus+
We are an active participant in the Erasmus+ programme and hold an E+ accreditation. Learning periods and internships abroad are organised for our students throughout the year.
For Spesia staff, activities such as job shadowing, courses, or teaching assignments are carried out in collaboration with our partner colleges. We also host international students and teachers on our campuses.
Experiences of mobilities in Spesia

Job Shadowing by Danish Educators
A delegation consisting of a welding teacher, an international coordinator, and a student counselor visited the Turku campus. The aim of the visit was to get familiar with our small machinery and car mechanic departments and to plan future collaboration.
“We were genuinely impressed by the strong passion you have for your students. It is highly admirable to see such dedication, and it left a very positive impression on all of us. The visit was both inspiring and insightful, and we learned a great deal from being with you.”

Irish Insights at Spesia
Two Irish special education teachers from Cork, Ireland visited Spesia’s Järvenpää and Mikkeli campuses. The aim of the job shadowing visit was to learn about our preparatory education and to plan collaboration. The teachers also had the opportunity to meet our students and exchange good practices with teachers in Spesia.
“We were very fortunate to be able to take part in this mobility. What we learned and experienced can only add value to ourselves and to the programmes we deliver to our students. Our host country could not have been friendlier and more hospitable. We very much look forward to them visiting us.”
